Wooly Shetland Trio Hanging Sign Kit with Instructions

Create a wooly shetland trio with included step-by-step instruction, a wood frame backing, a variety wool rug yarns both worsted and bulky sourced from local and national yarn dyers and producers. 

Whether you've taken my Wooly Sheep Trio class through The Oxford Rug Hooking School online and want an extra kit or would like a challenging and fun project to make for yourself or as a gift, this kit includes everything except for the monk's cloth and punch needles. 

In the class, we used only regular punch needles but you may want to include the use of fine size punch needles as well for the thinner yarns or double up multiple strands to create unique mixes of fluff for your sheep. 

The instructions feature punching from both sides of the monk's cloth, multiple sizes of the Oxford regular punch needles (at least #10 or #9, and #8) for closed loop sculpting and the pinch and pull method for long-strand sculpting with yarn. 

Your kit will also include a generous supply of #6 cut wool strips

This is the kit only and comes with instructions, but the online class it was designed for in no longer available at this time. Experienced punch needle rug hookers will enjoy this project but it is not recommended for beginners.

Your flock will stand out from the rest as you'll be using multiple methods to create raised sculpted areas. This kit also provides the chance to punch with wool strips to add even more dimension and interest. This pattern is made with basic shapes, and is designed for you to choose how to place the heads of your sheep and select from several natural colors for your trio. The final project size is a 12” x 5” wall hanging.
