10" Round "Lavender Armadillo Love w Blue Edge" Wool Trivet

This is a hand-made punch-needle rug hooking piece made with 100% wool rug yarn on 100% cotton monk's cloth. This piece uses advanced techniques to produce a scale pattern with interchanged variegated colors of hand-dyed 4-ply wool rug yarn. 

The design is created and rendered in fiber by Taryn Kail, a fiber artist based in Helotes, Texas. Each piece created by Taryn is unique due to the hand-made nature of the work. 

The lavender trivet is produced with cool lavenders, grays, earthy pinks and charcoal black with a blue whip stitched wool yarn finish over a hand-sewn hem. No glue has been used in the making of this product and materials should last for may generations. 

Wool trivets are generally heat-resistant up to 300°F - 400°F  (149°C – 204°C), making them effective for protecting surfaces from hot pots and pans. They are naturally flame resistant, durable and often feature moisture wicking properties. They are not scorch proof when placed directly on an excessively hot surface (see above) or on active stovetops or for use with high-heat cooking. 

The loops of this piece are held tightly and should remain unless tugged upon with great force. (For example, a puppy chewing at the loops.) Loops are created with single long strands of wool yarn that are hand-placed individually. If a loop is damaged you may trim it or spot clean with wool-safe products.

Spot clean only. Do not place this piece into a washer / dryer. The agitation will felt the piece and the heat might shrink it. 

You may steam iron / flatten this piece by placing a wet towel on top of the trivet and pressing with a hot iron (on cotton setting.) Do not press directly onto the piece without a wet towel on top or you will scorch the yarn.
